CHIPLEY - A Chipley man is facing multiple charges after giving Chipley Police Officers a false name during a Monday night traffic stop.

Chipley Police Chief Scott Thompson states officers conducted the stop on a grey pickup truck that was traveling on Coggin Avenue and made contact with the driver, later identified as Robin Derric Collins, 33, of Chipley.

According to reports, Collins, who was driving on a suspended driver's license, gave the officer a false name.

During the course of the stop, a CPD Narcotics Detection K-9 was deployed, and following an alert for the odor of narcotics, officers conducted a search of the vehicle.

The search resulted in the discovery of a baggie of methamphetamine.

Collins was placed under arrest and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of

Driving while license suspended 2nd Offense; Obstruction Providing False Information; Drug Possession (Methamphetamine) and Narcotics Equipment Possession
