WAUSAU - Wausau residents can look forward to increased water pressure, thanks to a vote by Wausau Town Council to raise the town water tower's tank elevation. The board passed the measure when council members met in regular session Thursday, agreeing to pay the $3,500 cost to U.S. Tank out of the water fund. The tank will be elevated by five feet. Each foot of water tower height provides about 0.43 pounds per square inch of pressure
In other business, additional animal registration letters have been sent out to residents advising the it is time for animal owners to re-register their pets. Any resident who has not registered their animal by November 15 will be put on a list of names given to the Town Attorney for further action.
Council members also approved for Sam Rudd to remain the Chief of the Wausau Volunteer Fire Department. Wayne Rudd will maintain his position as Assistant Chief.
The Wausau Christmas Parade is set to be held at 10 a.m. on December 9.
Wausau Town Council will meet again in regular session at 6 p.m. on December 14.
