VERNON - There will be a haunted house at the old Vernon High School behind City Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, October 27, from 6 p.. to 10 p.m. Saturday, October 28 and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.. Tuesday, October 31. Entry fee is $5. Parental discretion is advised. All proceeds will benefit Vernon High School Project Graduation.
Community Pumpkin Patch
BONIFAY - Autumn is here - and it's that time of year to search for the perfect pumpkin. The Holmes County Historical Society is hosting a Community Pumpkin Patch until October 31. The patch will be located at the east corner of Highway 79 and 90 (the grassy lot behind Bonifay Motor Sports). Tentative hours are Monday through Friday, 2:30 - 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. There will be pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, colors and prices. Proceeds from pumpkin sales will go to support society events and programs.
'Ghost Train' at Bristol's Veterans Memorial Park
BRISTOL - Veterans Memorial Railroad will host the annual "Ghost Train" at the Tom Keenan Depot in Veterans Memorial Park from 7-10 p.m. EST on October 28, and 31. Are you prepared for a frightful ride through the woods to greet witches, pirates, dinosaurs, and the walking dead? Are you ready to enter the tunnels of creatures unknown, visiting the Twilight Zone and a Western Ghost Town from the past? If you are brave enough, the Ghost Train is indeed a “spooktacular” train ride for all ages over one mile of track. Rides being at 7 p.m. Eastern Time at the Tom Keenan Depot, located at 10561 NW Theo Jacobs Way in Veterans Park - about a half mile from the red light in Bristol on Hwy 12 South. Tickets info: Due to limited seating, steam train tickets are available online. The steam train ride will be available Saturday, Oct. 28 and is $12 per person. Non-steam train tickets are $8 per person and are available October 28 and 31. Children 2 and under ride for free. Avoid the wait: buy your tickets on-line at veteransmemorialrailroad.org. Trunk-or-Treat in Chipley
CHIPLEY - Chipley's annual "Trunk or Treat" event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, October 28, in Pal's Park. This community-sponsored event is open to children ages 12 and under and is intended to provide a safe alternative to traditional "trick-or-treating" activities. Fall Festival at Bethany Baptist Church
BONIFAY - Bethany Baptist Church will host a Fall Festival beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 28. Come out for free food, fun, and fellowship. Bring a pot of chili to win the prize for the chili contest. The church is located at 1404 N Highway 79 in Bonifay.
Wausau Trick-or-Treat and Haunted House
WAUSAU - Official "Trick-or-Treat" for the Town of Wausau will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, October 28, followed by the annual Haunted House, presented by the Wausau Fire Department. The haunted house is free to the community and will be held at the fire department, located at 2705 Jackson Street.
BONIFAY - Bonifay's official door to door trick-or-treat will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 31.
'Candy & Careers'
CHIPLEY - Florida Panhandle Technical College will host "Candy & Careers" from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 31. This free community event will feature games, prizes, and candy, as well as opportunities to visit the college's career programs. Returning this year to capture fun family moments will be Pensacola Photo Booth. FPTC is located at 757 Hoyt Street in Chipley.
Vernon High School Fall Festival
VERNON - Vernon High School will host a Fall Festival from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, at the school. All funds raised at the cakewalk booth will benefit Relay for Life. Donations of cakes or baked goods will be accepted. For more information, email Tracie Herbert at email@example.com
WAUSAU - The Town of Wausau will host "Trunk-or-Treat" from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, at the Possum Palace. Trunk-or-Treat is hosted by the Wausau Recreation Department.
GRACEVILLE - Graceville will host "Trunk-Or-Treat" from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, at the Graceville Civic Center.
Fall Festival at Grace and Glory
CHIPLEY - Grace and Glory Worship Center will host a fall festival from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 1 at the center. There will be food, games, and more. The center is located at 912 Brickyard Road in Chipley.
Fall Festival at West Pittman Baptist Church
WEST PITTMAN - West Pittman Baptist Church will host a Fall Festival at 5 p.m. Saturday, November 4, at the church. There will be games, candy, blow-ups and more.
