BONIFAY – An Alabama man is in Holmes County Jail for meth charges and other various charges stemming from a traffic stop.
A Holmes County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigator stopped a white Chevrolet truck on Highway 2 for traffic violations on October 24.
The driver of the truck was identified as Joseph East of Newville, Alabama, whose license proved to be suspended.
Investigators conducted a search of the vehicle and found a pair of shoes in a shoe box. Inside the shoes, a cigarette pack with two plastic bags with large amounts of methamphetamines inside.
East was then placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended and attaching a tag not assigned.
