WESTVILLE – A man is in custody after barricading himself in his parents home.

Holmes County Sheriff’s Office received a call October 5 requesting service for a disturbance at 2771 R. M. Ward Road in Westville.

When deputies arrived on scene, the parents of the subject informed them their son, Jeffrey Green, had knocked the window from his mother’s care. Green then ran inside the home where he barricaded himself inside stating he wasn’t coming out alive.

Green’s mother advised there were firearms inside the residence.

Additional deputies responded and contact was made with Green by phone. As deputies spoke with Green, he advised them he was a heroin addict and had been out of the drug for a couple of days.

Green told deputies he was going through withdrawals, he needed help and asked to go to a detox center.

Deputies spoke with Green on the phone for approximately 20 minutes before he exited the residence and was taken into custody with no further incidents.

Green was taken to a Panama City facility for evaluation. Charges of criminal mischief could be forthcoming.
