BONIFAY – When Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop a vehicle, the driver accelerated and led deputies on a chase.

The maroon Ford Taurus was at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 171 on September 29, when HSCO attempted to conduct a traffic stop by utilizing emergency lights.

The driver sped up and turned onto Highway 171 and continued on until making an abrupt turn into a driveway then driving into the woods.

When the driver, identified as Frankie Robbins, exited the vehicle, he threw an object into the bushes.

Robbins was detained and placed in the deputies vehicle.

A check of Robbins drivers license and tag revealed his license is revoked and the tag was not assigned to the vehicle.

Deputies conducted a search found a syringe in the center console loaded with methamphetamine.

Robbins was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and fleeing and attempt to elude.
