NOMA – A tentative budget and millage rate were set when Noma Town Council met September 14. The town’s general fund has been set at $52,312 and the millage rate at 1.0.
The largest revenue stream for Noma comes from State of Florida revenue sharing at $15,440. The largest expenditure come from salaries for town employees at $14,400. With the low millage rate, the town stands to collect only $1,200 in ad valorem taxes.
Water and sewage has a tentative budget of $115,840 with the two largest expenditures being electricity and chemical supplies at $15,000 each. Customer payments totaling $68,880 make up the largest revenue stream.
The tentative budget is expected to be adopted when the Noma Town Council meets again in special session at 6 p.m. on October 3. The regular session meeting is set to follow directly after.
