CARYVILLE – The Caryville Town Council set their tentative budget for fiscal year 2017-2018 when they met in regular session September 12.
The tentative budget is set at $205,618.40. The largest expenditure the town will face is financial and administrative costs. Water and Garbage bills are the town’s largest revenue source.
The final budget hearing and adoption is slated to be held September 26.
Elections for Town Council have been cancelled, as the only three qualifying candidates are running unopposed. Those seats are as follows: Seat 5 will continue to be held by Millard French, Larry Palmer will retain Seat 3 and Becky Pate will take Seat 2, replacing Tommie Pittman.
In other business, a Thanksgiving dinner will be held for all residents at 11 a.m. on November 16. The event will be held at the Civic Center.
Paron Beeco, Flea Market Supervisor, advised the council that the flea market is open on Saturdays to the public.
Caryville Town Council will meet again in regular session at 6 p.m. on September 26.
