BONIFAY – A suspicious vehicle in a church parking lot led to an arrest for methamphetamine possession.
While on routine patrol September 8, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of New Smyrna Church.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver was identified as Paige Dault.
Dault’s infant child was asleep in the backseat. When asked why she was there, Dault stated that she had broken down and was waiting for someone to come pick her up.
The deputy was given consent to search the vehicle and found a ball of aluminum foil inside the driver’s side door pocket. The foil was found to contain methamphetamine.
Dault was then placed under arrest where she became belligerent. Dault began to kick and headbutt the glass inside the patrol car.
Dault was transported to Holmes County Jail and charged with possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest with violence.
The Department of Children and Families was notified in regards to the child.
