CHIPLEY – The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a tentative rollback millage rate of 9.2235 and a $23.4 million budget when the board met in a budget hearing Thursday.

The total budget, excluding the Sunny Hills and Oakwood Hills Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU), is proposed at $23,465,468. The MSBU budget is set is set at $615,500.

Projected general fund expenditures and revenues balance is at $12,756,305, with the largest revenue coming from $7.6million in ad valorem taxes. The largest expenditures is law enforcement at $2.4 million.
