CHIPLEY - The Washington County Historical Society said this week, "Our caboose is a'blazin'" as the organization reported that work has begun on Chipley's iconic caboose.
"Thanks to contributions of funds and labor, work continues on our historical caboose, which is parked on the lawn at the Washington County Historical Society," said Gweneth Collins.
This week, the caboose was taped and primed and has begun receiving a coat of "Bright Caboose Red". In coming weeks, the trim will be painted bright yellow or jet black and identifying markings will be added. When the outside is completed, the inside will be refurbished.
