BONIFAY - A Bonifay man and a juvenile are facing charges in connection to recent break-ins and vandalism at the former campus of Doctors Memorial Hospital (DMH).

In response to a report by DMH staff that the building had been burglarized and that graffiti had been spray painted on several walls, the Bonifay Police Department stepped up its routine security checks at the old hospital building.

Around 8 p.m. Saturday, August 26, an officer observed an open door at the facility and called for additional units due to the former medical facility's size and layout.

According to a report released by Bonifay Police Chief Chris Wells, officers located two male subjects in the building, later identified as Brandon Lee Callahan, 20, of Bonifay and a 16-year-old Bonifay juvenile. Officers observed both subjects to have overspray on their hands and clothing.

Callahan was booked into the Holmes County Jail on charges of burglary and criminal mischief, and the juvenile will be direct filed with juvenile court.

Chief Wells asks anyone who has knowledge of any crime to contact Crime Stoppers of Holmes County at 1-866- 689-8477 (TIPS) or the nearest law enforcement agency.
