HOLMES COUNTY – A woman is in custody after a traffic stop recently led to discovery of methamphetamine.
Holmes County Sheriff’s Office Investigators stopped a white Buick traveling on Highway 2 near Hamilton’s store August 8.
The driver, Tanya Brown, denied a search of her vehicle. A K-9 unit was en-route when Brown informed deputies she had a meth pipe in her purse.
Brown gave the deputies her purse with permission to retrieve the pipe. Brown then asked for her cigarettes from her purse. According to a HCSO press release, when the deputy picked up the pack, he noticed a small pink baggie containing methamphetamine in the cellophane packaging.
Brown was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
