POPLAR SPRINGS – An Alabama man was arrested after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine.

Narcotics investigators with Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on August 18 of a blue Chevy Suburban, driven by Michael Jaynes of Dothan.

A check of Jaynes drivers license showed his license to be suspended. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and found a black sunglasses case containing a glass pipe and a small baggie of methamphetamine.

Jaynes was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended to revoked, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Upon arrival at Holmes County Jail, Jaynes stated that he has swallowed some methamphetamine and was taken to an area hospital.
