WAUSAU – Members of Wausau Town Council discussed the closing of Bonnie Lane and rerouting water lines to Finch Circle at Cora Lane when the board met in regular session Thursday.

Town Clerk Margaret Riley advised the board of the proposal to relocate the water main due to floodplain mitigation. The council tentatively approved of the proposal.

Council gave approval for advertising on several different issues when they met in regular session August 10.

The first approval went to advertising requests for bids on repairing the doors on the Possum Palace. The rolling doors have been a safety and security concern for the town and as such are in need of major repair.

Requesting bids on splash pad construction as well as construction on the walking park at the Possum Palace were also approved to be advertised.

With the departure of Town Attorney Jeff Goodman, who has been selected as the newest Fourteenth Judicial Circuit judge, a request for proposals for legal counsel was approved.

Lastly, council members recognized the Wausau Red Sox 11-12 year old Pigtails girls softball team on winning District Champions with medallions and a small reception. The team went 15-0 this season.

Wausau Town Council will meet again in special session at 5 p.m. on August 22.
