POPLAR SPRINGS – An Alabama woman was arrested August 4 for methamphetamine and other drug related charges.

Holmes County Sheriff’s Office narcotic investigators stopped a gold car on J.W. Stephens Road in the Poplar Springs community. During the stop the smell of burnt marijuana was detected coming from the car.

The driver, identified as Bridgette Michelle Smith, of Slocomb, Alabama, was asked about the smell, she stated that there was a marijuana roach in the ashtray.

A probable search was then conducted and revealed a purse containing several baggies of methamphetamine that was prepackaged for sale.

The search also found several pipes used for smoking meth and another with a small amount of marijuana.

Smith was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
