WESTVILLE - A DeFuniak Springs man is facing charges of drug trafficking after a traffic stop by a Holmes County Sheriff's deputy.

HCSO reports that on Tuesday, July 25, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a blue Mazda car while patrolling Highway 90 in Westville.

A license check revealed the driver, identified as Joseph Grippo of DeFuniak Springs, was driving with a suspended license.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of four plastic bags containing a combined weight of approximately a quarter pound of methamphetamine. Also located was what investigators called a "large amount of U.S. currency" and a firearm.

Grippo was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, driving while license suspended, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
