HOLMES COUNTY – Holmes County High School’s head football coach Kevin Womble, along with other coaches and players recently held a football camp for kids ages 7-13. The week-long camp saw kids from Holmes and surrounding counties learning the fundamentals of game. Womble’s hope is one of brighter futures.

“We want give these kids something to do, aside from being in the streets,” said Womble. “Working with the players these kids see during Friday night games is a big deal. Maybe one day, they’ll be on the field playing for HCHS.”

Womble hopes to bring the camp back every year with kids in all surrounding counties eligible to attend. The cost is $50 per child, with this year's proceeds going toward members of the HCHS football team being able to attend their own camp. Any funds left over will be used for the football program.
