WAUSAU – A local woman was arrested shortly after midnight on July 4 after a patrolling Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed what appeared to be "erratic and uncontrolled movements" in the parking lot of the Tom Thumb in Wausau.
The woman, identified as Samantha Carter, 46, of Wausau, gave consent for a search of her vehicle. According to reports, Carter was in possession of prescription Vyvanse, a controlled substance. Upon questioning, Carter admitted the medication “belonged to someone else’s child.”
Carter was taken into custody, charged with possession of a controlled substance, and transported to the Washington County Jail.
During the booking process, Carter was found to have a glass pipe, which tested positive for methamphetamine, concealed on her person, which led to additional charges of possession of paraphernalia and introduction of contraband into a detention facility.
