BONIFAY – Updates to the City of Bonifay's Future Land Use Map (FLUM) has been forward to the Department of Economic Opportunity.
The updated map, which includes an overlay showing land available for commercial use designation, was developed as part of efforts to help develop the 79 Business Corridor project. Council members agreed to submit the map when the board convened in regular session Monday.
In other business, a representative for the Deal family and Ladon Drewell spoke to the council in reference to annexing three parcels of land into the city. The board tasked Attorney Michelle Jordan with drafting an ordinance concerning annexation and are awaiting Jordan's recommendation before making a final decision.
C.W. Roberts Contractors was awarded a bid pave Magnolia Street, Armstrong Street, and Moore Lane. The $52,281.50 cost will be paid out of street repair fund.
Council members were advised that a project the place handrails at Memorial Field has been completed. The council approved Carl Gilman Welding to be paid $7,435 for the work out of the Legislative Appropriation funds.
Bonifay City Council will meet again in regular session at 6 p.m. on July 10.
