A Chipley woman was arrested Tuesday, June 20, for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.
Officer Z. Neitsch conducted a traffic stop of a blue Acura for a traffic violation, later identifying the driver as Tina Sanders, 38, of Chipley. During the course of the stop, Washington County Deputy S. Taylor arrived to assist using his narcotic detection K-9. Following an alert by the K-9, officers conducted a search of the vehicle discovering methamphetamine oil concealed in a vaporizer belonging to Sanders, similar to those in common use. Sanders was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail where she booked on charges of: possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of narcotic equipment.
Chipley Police Chief Scott Thompson later praised the teamwork between the agencies.
“I credit the good work by both city and county law enforcement officers and their ability to work together to make our community safer," he said. "I encourage anyone with information regarding illegal activity to contact the Chipley Police Department at (850) 638-6310 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 638-TIPS.”
