BONIFAY - A traffic stop recently led to more serious charges for a Bonifay man.

The Holmes County Sheriff's Office a deputy stopped a Ford F-150 for traffic related offenses on Bonifay-Gritney Road on June 9.

The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Rock Crowder of Bonifay.

According to reports, while the deputy was speaking with Crowder outside the vehicle, the suspect began acting nervous and then ran back to the vehicle, jumped inside, and locked the doors.

While inside the vehicle, Crowder picked up a knife. After a few moments, the deputy talked Crowder into dropping the knife and exiting the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed several meth pipes located under a seat.

The deputy also discovered a meth pipe and several grams of methamphetamine while searching Crowder's person.

Crowder was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic equipment, and resisting arrest without violence.
