HOLMES COUNTY – Early Friday morning, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call in the Cerrogordo community on Highway 179-A in response to a white male opening mailboxes and flashing passersby.
A short time later a woman called in stating a man had broken into her home in the same area.
Multiple units responded to the call along with Holmes County Correctional Institution K-9 team. A search for the suspect ensued.
The suspect was identified as Garrett Devin Lane, a white male. Lane also had a warrant from Holmes County for violation of probation and will be facing additional charges.
Sheriff John Tate would like to thank the observant citizens for reporting the suspicious person. “This goes to show that the community working together with law enforcement makes a difference,” said Tate.
Sheriff Tate would also like to thank the Holmes K-9 team again for their assistance.
