BONIFAY – Roberts and Roberts Inc. is set to begin resurfacing Oklahoma Street on May 30. The project is expected to take 30 days to complete according to Drake Syfrett of Anchor CI, Inc. when he informed Bonifay City Council during their regular session meeting on Monday.
Rick Brown of Mott McDonald came before the council advising that plans for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Small Community Outreach Program (SCOP) project on St. Johns Road are roughly 60 percent complete. Studies are being done on the drainage issues the road faces before the plans can be completed. Work is expected to begin in 2018.
A 90/10 Assistance to Firefighters grant was accepted by council for eight new self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) plus eight more breathing masks to replace 11 year old equipment. The city will match $5634 of $60,600 from the grant for the equipment.
A new camera will be installed at Middlebrooks Park by Modern Tech Squad. The camera will replace a camera that is being blocked by trees in the park. $624 in unds to pay for the camera will come out of a Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program grant.
Bonifay City Council will meet again in regular session at 6 p.m. on June 12.
