HOLMES COUNTY - Responding to a report of a reckless driver on May 17, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, the driver was identified as Paul Tyler Phelps.
The deputy observed a baggie of pills inside the vehicle and conducted a probable cause search with permission from Phelps. The search revealed another baggie containing roughly 50 Xanax pills.
Phelps informed the deputy that he had purchased about 250 pills from someone in Pensacola in order to sell them.
Phelps was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
On May 18 a Holmes County Sheriff’s office deputy pulled a 1994 Ford Ranger for a routine traffic stop. While checking the license of the driver Wayne Meredith, it was discovered to be suspended.
Meredith told the deputy that there were methamphetamine inside of the vehicle. A search was conducted and a silver container was found to have methamphetamine inside.
Meredith was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and driving while license suspended.
