BONIFAY – A "colorful" time was to be had at Bonifay's Recreation Center Saturday morning as Bonifay Middle School's cheerleaders hosted their inaugural "Color Run" fundraiser.
More than 100 participants joined the event, which was held to help raise money to cover the cost of summer cheer camp for each girl. The Color Run was just a mile, with the route consisting of four laps around the rec center.
“We wanted to do something different; we wanted to do something healthy since we are athletes," said BMS Cheer Coach Tori Short. "We want our community to be happy and healthy at the same time, so this is a perfect fit."
Coach Short states she would like to make the Color Run an annual event following the success of Saturday’s run.
