BONIFAY – A representative of Porter Construction arrived at the Bonifay Police Department (BPD) on May 9 to file a report of theft.
The complaint filed stated a 1993 Osh Kosh Corporation water truck was taken from a construction site on State Road 79.
The vehicle was entered into the Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC), National Crime Information Center (NCIC) databases and post was made on social media offering a reward.
On May 10, a citizen spotted the vehicle abandoned in a parking lot near Fifteenth Street in Panama City.
BPD contacted the Panama City Police Department for assistance in recovering the vehicle.
Following an investigation, an arrest was made of one Adrian Samarripas, Hispanic male, 27, of Glendale, Arizona.
Samarripas also had an existing warrant for parole violation in Arizona. A no bond warrant was obtained by BPD for grand theft and is currently in Bay County Jail awaiting extradition.
