CHIPLEY - The Washington County Library Chipley Branch will be showing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 17.


Building a basic pantry class

CHIPLEY - There will be a building a basic pantry/using what you store class from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 at the Washington County Agriculture Center. Participants will learn how to set up a basic well equipped pantry and way to use stored foods in everyday meals. Registration is $5 per person. Pre-Registration is required by contacting the Washington County Extension Office at 850-638-6265 or the Holmes County Extension Office at 850-547-1108. The Washington County Agriculture Center is located at 1424 Jackson Avenue in Chipley.


Spring game night

BONIFAY - The Bonifay Woman's Club will host a spring game night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20 in the Holmes County High School Media Center. Tickets are $10. Family involvement night

CHIPLEY - Roulhac Middle School SAC committee will host a Family Involvement Night at RMS from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20. There will be food, a Corn Hole Tournament and more. The goal of the Spring Fling is to connect with as many families as possible.


Cruisin' For a Cure

BONIFAY - C.H.I.P.S. Relay For Life team will hos Cruisin' For a Cure from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at the Holmes County Agriculture Center in Bonifay. This is a car, truck and bike show. There is a $1 donation requested to look at the vehicles entered into the show. There will be door prizes awarded to winning ticket holders, winners must be present to win. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Entries are $15 for the first vehicle and $5 per additional vehicles, military and first responders my enter for $10 for first vehicle and $3 per each additional vehicle. In honor of and in memory of signs may be purchased for $15. All entries must be in place by 7:30 a.m. and must be removed by 5 p.m. Vendor spaces are available for $25. All proceeds will benefit the Washington-Holmes Relay For Life. Yoga classes

CHIPLEY - The Florida Department of Health in Washington County will offer free yoga classes every Saturday beginning Saturday, April 22 through Saturday June 24. Poker run

VERNON - The Vernon Yellow Jackets will host a poker run Saturday, April 22. Stops will include, Harley Davidson in Panama City Beach, Stereo Source in Lynn Haven, Ebro Dog Track in Ebro, Three Oaks Winery in Vernon and the final stop will be a Dees Restaurant in Vernon. Registration will be at 9 a.m. at Harley Davidson in Panama City Beach. A 50/50 drawing for door prizes will be held at the last stop. Trophies will be given for the best and worst hand. Breastfeeding Support Group

CHIPLEY - The Florida Department of Health Washington County will host Bosom Buddies Breastfeeding Support Group. The group will meet from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, Tuesday, May 23, Tuesday, June 27, Tuesday, July 25 and Tuesday, August 22 at the Florida Department of Health in Washington County located at 1338 South Boulevard, Chipley. Caryville Senior Center celebration

CARYVILLE - The Caryville Senior Center will host a four year celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 at the Caryville Civic Center located on Highway 279 in Caryville. Trey Hawkins, county liaison for Washington County Council on Aging, will be the guest speaker and health care representatives will be on hand to answer questions, give blood pressure checks and pass out informational brochures.


FPTC golf tournament

SUNNY HILLS - The Florida Panhandle Technical College Foundation will host a three person scramble golf tournament at 8 a.m. Friday, April 28 at the Sunny Hills Golf Club. Festival on the Rivers

The 42nd annual Geneva Festival on the Rivers will be held Friday, April 28 through Sunday, April 30 at Robert Fowler Park. Parade lineup will be at 5 p.m. and the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. On Friday there will be ribbon cutting at Robert Fowler Park immediately following the parade. Amateur Night Open Mike will be held at 6 p.m. at the Gazebo. Food vendors will be open Friday through Sunday; arts-and-crafts and specialty items as well. On Saturday gates open at 8 a.m. with worm fiddlin’, a coin scramble, tug-of-war and kayak race. Dickie Merritt and the Original Bama Jam from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Gazebo Followed by Shenandoah at 2:15 p.m. Highway 40 and the Geneva High String Band at the Food Court. Jail and bail

CHIPLEY - The Chipley High School Relay For Life team will host a jail and bail fundraiser Friday, April 28. The jail will be set up at Chipley High School. For $10 someone can be served with a warrant, arrested and given a bail amount to raise before being released. Let the team know what you want someone to be arrested for so it can be written on the warrant. Money and names need to be turned in to Chipley High School in care of Monica Rehberg or Margaret Coleman. Bread and water will be served. All money collected will be given to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

HOLMES/WASHINGTON COUNTIES - The Krafty Katz Relay for Life team will be selling Wish Upon a Cure t-shirts for $15 for sizes up to L and XL and up are $17 until the event. Vernon Band Bingo night .

VERNON - The Vernon High School band will host a bingo night in VHS cafeteria Saturday, April 29. The doors will open at 5 p.m. with the game starting at 6:15 p.m. In advance tickets are $10 for adult and $5 for children 9 and under. At the door tickets will be $15 for adults and $10 for children 9 and under. There will be a total of 10 games, nine regular and one coverall. Players my purchase multiple packets. Meal deals will be sold for $5 and will include, chicken salad, tuna salad, hot dog/chili dog or BBQ, chips and tea, water or lemonade. There will also be nachos, baked good, chips and sodas for sale. Tickets may be purchased from any band parents, band students, from the band boosters or from Mr. Harcus. All donations are welcomed. Al proceeds will go directly to the band.


Footloose the Musical

CHIPLEY - Chipley High School will present Footloose the Musical at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 and Thursday, May 4 at Chipley High School. Admission is $10 for adults ad $5 for students. Tickets will be sold at the door as well as in the Chipley High School front office one week prior to opening night. Aesop’s Oh So Slightly Updated Fables

VERNON – The Vernon High School Theatre Department will perform Aesop’s Oh So Slightly Updated Fables Thursday, May 4, 2017. Times will be released at a later time. This short play, performed for children, but appropriate for all ages, weaves five of Aesop's most famous fables into a show that's fun, fast-paced, and full of surprises. Contains: The Dog and the Bone; The Tortoise and the Hare; The Lion and the Mouse; The Fox and the Grapes; The Miller, His Son And the Donkey, and The Country Maid. Written by Kim Esop-Wylie Aesop, directed by Kevin Russell, produced through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.


Veterans luncheon

Vendors, volunteers needed for Worm Fiddlin' Fest

CARYVILLE - The Town of Caryville is searching for volunteers to help serve on the planning committee and offer entertainment or other services for the annual Worm Fiddlin' Festival, set for May 6. The town is also needing vendors to rent spots to sell food, crafts, and other items at the event. Vendor spaces are $35 for merchandise only and $40 for food vendors (copy of state license is required). Relay for Life

HOLMES/WASHINGTON COUNTIES – The Holmes-Washington County Relay For Life event will be held from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, May 5 at Pals Park in Chipley. There will be performances by Vernon Elementary School, Chipley High School Performing Arts and a performance by CATS with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Healthy Start community yard sale

CHIPLEY - The Florida Department of Health in Holmes and Washington Counties host a Healthy Start Community Yard Sale. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6 in the parking lot of the Antique Mall located at 1215 Highway 90, Chipley. This event is a community yard sale for baby and children’s clothing and items. The cost to participant is one pack of diapers. The diapers will be used by the Healthy Start Programs in Holmes and Washington Counties. The goal of Healthy Start is to prevent infant mortality and to provide services to pregnant women and children ages zero to three. Decades of Music 2017

BONIFAY – The Holmes County High School Music Department will present “Decades of Music” at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 6, Monday, May 8, Tuesday, May 9, and Thursday, May 11 in the HCHS Auditorium. A Pre-show will begin at 6:45 p.m. each night. Each night different seniors will be recognized for their contributions to the Drama/Music Departments at HCHS and will sing a song from the past. Color run

BONIFAY - The Bonifay Middle School cheerleaders will host a color run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13 at the Bonifay Rec Center. Participants must register and pay on or before Friday, April 21. The cost to participate is $5 for kids three to 17 and $10 for adults. To receive a t-shirt participants will need to ay and extra $15. Registration forms may be picked up at Bonifay idle School from Tori Short or any BMS cheerleader. Forms are also available at Donutland Express in Bonifay. Proceed will go to fund the BMS cheerleaders for necessary gear and equipment for the 2017-2018 school year.


Beauty and the Beast, Jr.

BONIFAY - The Bonifay Middle School Theatre and Chorus department will present Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Jr. at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 and Friday, May 19 at the Holmes County Agriculture Center.
