WASHINGTON COUNTY – On March 13, deputies with Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) arrested 25 year old Matthew Burgett, a suspect in a burglary case.
The victim in the case reported on March 7, the theft of two firearms and two game cameras from his residence on Porter Pond Road.
An investigation conducted by WCSO deputies and investigators led to the recovery of the stolen firearms.
Burgett was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail. He is charged with one count each: burglary of a dwelling, grand theft of a firearm and grand theft.
“We are committed to the task of helping people protect their property and will pursue every case in an effort to rid our county of would-be thieves,” said Sheriff Kevin Crews.
