ESTO – A new look for Esto Town Hall was revealed at the town's Feb. 7 council meeting.

Efforts to repaint the inside of the facility were completed, and new seating has been added. The council also has plans to make improvements to the outside of town hall, such as cleaning up and possibility painting.

Councilman John Hagans stated he thought it was important to clean up the facility in order to set an example for the rest of the town.

“We as a council need to set the example for what we want our town to look like," he said. "We can enforce a potential nuisance ordinance if we don’t abide by it as well."

A nuisance ordinance was discussed by the council but was not approved.  Town Attorney Jeff Goodman advised the council to look at Holmes County's policy on nuisances and model the town policy after the county's.

The issue is expected to be brought up again when the council meets in regular session at 7 p.m., march 7.

In other items, council members voted to approve two week's severance and two week’s vacation pay for former town clerk Jody Sellers. The application period for the position closed  on February 3, and a new clerk is expected to be announced soon.
