CHIPLEY - Washington County Planner Victoria D’Angelo bid a fond farewell Thursday to the post she has served for about a year.
D’Angelo, who was contracted by county commissioners through the West Florida Regional Planning Council, says she has accepted a position with the City of Pensacola's Community Redevelopment Agency but intends to follow progress in Washington County.
"I hope the county maintains their agriculture and am looking forward to seeing how they grow industry," said D’Angelo. "There's definitely a lot of southern hospitality in Washington County, and I've enjoyed working in a rural agricultural area. I grew up in Long Island (New York), and some may be surprised to hear there's a lot of rural places in that area, but working here was very reminiscent of home."
Washington County Administrator Hank Hamilton says the county's contract with the West Florida Regional Planning Council will continue, and he expects to meet candidates to fill the county planner position in the next few weeks.
