DOTHAN, Ala. – Five queens crowned Saturday in the first ever Miss Toadlick Pageant made a cash and food donation today to the Wiregrass Area United Way Food Bank.

Forty-two girls from Alabama, Florida and Georgia competed in the pageant, which raised $1,075 in cash and hundreds of pounds of food for the Food Bank.

“I am very pleased our first pageant agent drew such a great response,” said Cindy Carroll, pageant coordinator. “All the girls were required to donate 10 non-perishable food items. Some went well beyond that requirement.”

It was the second time this year Toadlick Music Festival made a significant donation to the Food Bank. In January, festival founder Chris Gilbert presented a $4,441.10 check to the Food Bank. The check represented 10 percent of December ticket sales.

Saturday’s winners are: Katie Eakin of Bainbridge, Ga., Miss Toadlick; Jana Holland of Rehobeth, Teen Miss Toadlick; Macy Maddox of Dothan, Pre-Teen Miss Toadlick; Jayden Thomas of Webb, Petite Miss Toadlick; and Summer Wright of Echo, Little Miss Toadlick.

Jayden Thomas also earned the titles of Miss Heart of Toadlick for collecting the most canned goods, and Miss Spirit of Toadlick for collecting the most votes.

The winners, who weren’t required to kiss any toads, received Toadally Important People (TIP) passes to the music festival and will represent Toadlick at various events throughout the year.
