Coos Bay Shakespeare in the Park will present its production of "Twelfth Night" this weekend, July 14 and 15, in Mingus Park. The performances also will continue through next weekend, July 21 and 22 for a total of four performances.
"Twelfth Night," first published in 1602, is one of William Shakespeare’s most renowned and popular comedies. It follows a pair of twins shipwrecked on an island, and the various gender-swapping, identity-mistaking, cross-dressing shenanigans that follow. Coos Bay’s production is directed by John Beane and stars Amanda McNulty, Scott Peters, and Sabrina Gonzalez.
The show begins at 4 p.m. There also will be an opening show entitled "The Green Show" starring the Sapphire Sirens belly dancers and shanty singers Finivarra and the Nor’Westers. Both are free and open to the public. Learn more: www.coosbayshakespeare.org or call 541-290-9726.
