    The Cape Fear Chapter of the American Red Cross has responded to three local home fires in less than 24 hours. Red Cross workers met with a family in Wilmington and two families in Supply whose homes were damaged or destroyed by fires last night. Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) members are on call day and night to provide immediate emergency assistance to anyone who has experienced a verifiable disaster. DAT volunteers meet with disaster victims to determine their immediate emergency needs and provide temporary shelter, food, clothing, health and mental health services, referrals, and additional resources.
