Week 6 Football Heroes (See Stories, Photos, Standings)
Here are the Week 6 Football Heroes:
Calvin Pryor, Port St. Joe: There’s little doubt Pryor is one of the best in the area and he showed it against Franklin County. He had a hand in five touchdowns, grabbing a reception for one, running for another, passing for a score and returning a punt and interception for touchdowns as well. He led the team with 98 yards rushing in the Tiger Sharks’ 47-20 win over the Seahawks.
Jeremy Hester, Arnold: Sometimes even a performance in a losing effort merit consideration and Hester is no exception. The senior rushed for a game-high 277 yards and three touchdowns and also returned a kickoff 93 yards for a score. He did all this with a bad back and a hamstring injury, sitting the final few drives of the game and going to the locker room with an ice pack strapped to him after the Marlins’ 42-28 loss to Choctawhatchee.
Travis Register, Bozeman: The Bucks won their second straight game after starting 0-4 and Register led the way. The senior quarterback threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns on 11 completions. He also rushed for a 1-yard score in Bozeman’s 33-14 win over winless Baker.
Terrance Evans, Liberty County: The Bulldogs have a three-headed rushing attack, but they may only go as far as this talented quarterback can take them. Evans scored on runs of 1, 21 and 4 yards and helped Liberty County shut out Wewahitchka 33-0.
