Problems with road work
I know you are probably tired hearing me complain about private road issues put pictures don't lie. On Sept. 17 Washington County Public Works were working on the corner of Quail Hollow and Hero Road cutting back brush. I was told by the workers that Commissioner Holman had them do so for someone had complain about the poor visibility for turning, for one thing I to am guilty is when turning on to Quail Hollow from Hero, I am usually on the left side of the road and not the right side like I am supposed to and you can't see any on coming cars on Quail Hollow. I do think it is great that the County is cutting back the brush anyway for the public safety side of the people who live or visit North Quail Hollow.
That is the name of the sub-division where the work was done but the problem I have is according to the letter that was given to me from the B.O.C.C. and Pete Herbert and Linda Waller, Hero Road is a private road. The funny thing is that the owner of Hero Road, David Piercy of Panama City is the same owner of Champion Drive, which is also a private road. The moral of my story is if you can work on one private road for the safety of the people, why can't you work on all private roads for the people? Now I grant you my road is bad but not that bad to my house, which is the first quarter mile. But I have heard from Ed Pelletier, Fire Chief of Country Oaks Fire Company, he was not certain if he could drive his trucks down the rest of the three-quarter of a mile of Champion Drive if he had to.
The public safety of all of the people of Washington County should be what is in important not just some.
