PanhandleVarsity Power Rankings Final (See Photos, Standings)

Another regular season of football has come and gone and only two area teams, Blountstown and Liberty County, have survived for the playoffs. The rest saw improvement and disappointment, as is the case with any season.

Here are the final PanhandleVarsity Power Rankings, with record and last week’s rank in parentheses:

1. Liberty County (9-1) (1) Team Info

The Bulldogs secured their ninth straight win of the season with a victory over Cottondale.

2. Rutherford (6-4) (2) Team Info

The idle Rams stay put.

3. Blountstown (8-2) (3) Team Info

The Tigers beat winless Baker to remain at No. 3.

4. Chipley (5-5) (5) Team Info

The Tigers beat Graceville and finished .500 a year after not winning a game.

5. Marianna (5-5) (7) Team Info

The Bulldogs climbed to .500 with a win over Sneads.

6. Port St. Joe (7-3) (4)

The Tiger Sharks’ rough week continued with a loss to Tallahassee Maclay.

7. Sneads (5-5) (6)

The Pirates finished the season with a loss to Marianna.

8. Bozeman (4-6) (9)

The idle Bucks finish a spot higher.

9. Bay (4-6) (11)

The idle Tornadoes rise thanks to losses ahead of them.

10. Mosley (4-6) (13)

The Dolphins capped the season with a win over Arnold.

11. Franklin County (4-6) (8)

The Seahawks were blown out by Holmes County.

12. Vernon (4-6) (10)

The Yellow Jackets finished with a loss to Walton.

13. Wewahitchka (4-6) (12)

The Gators failed to end at .500 in a loss to Jay.

14. Arnold (4-6) (14)

The Marlins lost to Mosley and finished with six straight losses.

15. Holmes County (3-7) (16)

The Blue Devils move up one with a blowout over Franklin County.

16. Graceville (3-7) (15)

The Tigers’ tough slate ended with a defeat against Chipley.

17. Cottondale (1-8) (17)

The Hornets were dumped by Liberty County.
