Vernon High School JROTC raider team competed in the first Raider Competition
On Thursday, September 15, the Vernon High School JROTC raider team competed in the first Raider Competition of the year.
They did extremely well in this, placing in 18 of the 30 possible places.
In map reading, Christopher Vathis placed first, Nathan Dunn placed second, and Eric Clark placed third for the males.
For the females, Maegen Sheehan placed first, Jessica Grigsby placed second, and Brianna Loveless placed third.
For the knot tying, Nathan Dunn got first in the male portion for this category and Maegen Sheehan placed first, Julie Sheehan placed second, and Brianna Loveless placed third in the female portion.
Brianna Loveless got first place in the female obstacle course.
In First Aid, the places for males were – Christopher Vathis, first; Todd Jenkins, Second; and Eric Clark, third.
The females were – Maegen Sheehan, first; Jessica Grigsby, second; and Julie Sheehan, third.
Julie Sheehan also got third in the PT Test.
Everyone worked very hard and did their best, while having fun in the process.
