“Trade with the Creek Indians” at Landmark Park’s Heritage Forums

(DOTHAN--) Landmark Park’s annual “Heritage Forums,” a series of guest speakers offering programs on state and local history, will continue on Sunday, July 13 at 3 p.m. with “Trade with the Creek Indians,” presented by R.L. Lehmann.
 
Lehmann is a retired military man who developed an interest in history in the late 1980s. He will be dressed as a Scottish trader for his presentation on trade with the Creek Indians and will display historical replicas of goods traded during that time period.
 
Due to space limitations, registration is required. Programs take place each Sunday in July at 3 p.m. in the Interpretive Center at Landmark Park. Programs are free with paid admission to the park ($4 for adults, $3 for children 4-15, free for members and children 3 and under). Space is limited and reservations are required.  Other topics in the series include “The History of Longleaf Pine Forests in Alabama” on July 20 and “Rosenwald Schools: A Benchmark in the History of Black Education” on July 27.
 
Landmark Park, home of the Alabama Agricultural Museum, is a 100-acre historical and natural science park located on U.S. Highway 431 North in Dothan, Ala. For more information and to register for a program, contact the park at 334-794-3452.
