Shiloh to host World Day of Prayer

CHIPLEY — The Baptist World Alliance has set aside the first Monday in November each year to celebrate the Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer.  For many years, individuals in the community of churches have come together to learn and pray about issues affecting women and families around the globe.

Shiloh Baptist Church extends an invitation for this year’s local celebration which will be held on Monday, Nov. 1 at  6:30 pm.  Shiloh is located 4 miles south of U.S. 90 on State 277. Additional information can be obtained by calling the church office at 638-1014.

This year the theme will be “In Step with the Spirit” from Galatians 5:25. A time of fellowship will follow .

The Baptist World Alliance Women’s Department is composed of 7 continental unions representing 229 national Baptist women’s organizations from 130 countries.

 

St. Joseph Cemetery trustee board

CHIPLEY — St. Joseph Cemetery trustee board meeting to elect cemetery upkeep committee all are encouraged to attend this important meeting. The meeting will be held at St. Joseph AME Church on Monroe Sheffield Road in the dining hall on Oct. 31 at 3:00 p.m.

Community Fall Festival

PROSPERITY COMMUNITY — There will be a Community Fall Festival at D.D. Eldridge Park in the Prosperity Community on Hwy. 181 on Sunday Oct. 31 from 4-7 p.m. Free candy, games, bounce houses, slides, music and free food

Sponsoring churches are Hickory Hill Baptist Church, Leonia Baptist Church, Northside Baptist Church, and West Pittman Baptist Church

 

Church benefit

GENEVA, AL — There will be a benefit on Nov. 6, starting at 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at High Praise Church of God Mountain Assembly in Geneva, Ala located one block west of the Geneva Hardware (ACE Hardware) on Alabama Hwy. 27. Chicken plates for $6. There will be a yard sale and also a Gospel Sing. Singers will be Jerry Lynn Group, Jimmy Ray Carroll and band and many more. Yard sale

BONIFAY — The Ladies Circle of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church is having a fundraiser yard sale. The proceeds help purchase materials to make prayer quilts for those who are very sick. The yard sale will be Nov. 5 and 6 at the Church Parish Center located at 2331 Hwy. 177A in Bonifay, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days. Down home prices on everything, furniture, household items, clothing, baked goods and so much more.

 

Fall Festival

WESTVILLE — Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church’s Fall Festival will take place on Oct. 30 from 4-6 p.m. at Westville City Park. Free food and games.

 

Fifth Sunday sing

VERNON — New Bethany Assembly of God, located at Hinson’s Crossroads will be having a fifth Sunday sing on Oct. 31. Brother Danny Jackson will bring the morning message. At 12:30 p.m. there is lunch in the fellowship hall. For information call Brother Leon Jenkins at 773-3003.

 

Revival at New Home

CHIPLEY — New Home Baptist Church will have an old fashioned revival beginning Nov. 7. Former pastor Huey Hughes will be the evangelist. Sunday morning services will begin at 10 a.m. with a gospel sing featuring special groups as. Dinner will follow. Night services will be at 6 p.m. on Nov. 7. Heaven’s Way Biker Church

COTTONDALE — Heaven’s Way Biker Church held its third service Oct. 17 welcoming approximately 52 guests.  Robert Happoldt, president of Heaven’s Saints Motorcycle Ministry, Enterprise, Ala. Chapter, opened the service with a challenge to Christians to love and act as Christ exampled.

Paschal to appear at retreat
