Organization formed to oppose expansion of WC wet laws
CHIPLEY – An organization of private citizens has been formed and registered with the state of Florida to oppose expansion of Washington County liquor laws. The Citizens for Positive Development will hold a public meeting at the Possum Palace in Wausau on Tuesday, July 21 at 7 p.m.
The Rev. Alcus Brock is spokesperson and registered agent for the organization. “We have sent in registration papers to the Florida Elections Commission and have opened a bank account,” Brock said. Brock also said that a treasurer has been elected, “and others have also come to offer support.”
Brock said the CPD is a group of private citizens doing business as private citizens. “We are not tied to any church or church organization,” Brock said. The CPD will open an office on Church Avenue in Chipley. For information call 326-2226.
