Sales of existing homes in Florida down 15 percent

Sales of existing condos up 11 percent

Sales of existing condominiums in Florida rose 11 percent in November, with a total of 5,411 condos sold statewide compared to 4,860 units sold in November 2009, according to the latest housing data released by Florida Realtors®.

Existing home sales in Florida for November 2010 were down 15% statewide, with median sales prices also down 5% compared to November 2009.  Existing home sales in Fort Pierce were down 34%, with median sales prices down 2%, while home sales in Miami were up 49% with median sales prices down 7%.  Existing home sales in Panama City were down 10% with median sales prices down 8%

Existing condo sales in Florida for October 2010 were up 11% statewide, with median prices down 16% statewide.  Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers each showed a decrease of 13% with median prices down 18% and 5% respectively, while Gainesville showed an increase in condo sales of 88% with median sales prices down 29% compared to November 2010.  Existing condo sales in Panama City were up 18% with median sales prices down 19%.
