Pay attention to politics

To the editor,

I would just like to say that I have heard so many people recently say that they did not know how to know what is going on in so many areas of the government or how to find out. Well, it is like everything else, no one is going to hit us over the head with it, we must do a little probing our your very own.

If you are really concerned and would like to find out at least some of what is happening I would like to say that the Tea Party or Concerned Patriots of Holmes County meet the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and it is quite informative. It is very laid back and is where we can find out things that we probably wouldn’t otherwise. We can ask questions and talk among ourselves with some “What can I do to be informed and what can I do to make a difference” answers. I have been several times now and I have learned a lot.

Do you want the septic tank bill that is on the table to pass? Do you know what it is or what it involves/ Do you want to? Well, even if you don’t want to, if it passes you will surely know about it soon enough and so will your checkbook! How about the “Dream Act”? HR3241. Whose dream is it? Yours? Oh yea and the “Cleat Act” what about that bill? It has already passed the house! What do you think about that? Don’t know because you don’t have a clue what it is? If you really want to know, come to the meeting on the third Thursday night of each month at 7 p.m. at the Westville town hall. Meetings are led by Pastor Eddie Eaton.

If we don’t go and we don’t find out what is happening then we shouldn’t complain when these things are passed and put upon us! Here is our chance to learn and to have our say. God Bless us all and this great country, while we still have it!
