Kidnapping Arrest in Walton County

Freeport, FL -  A 19-year-old Freeport woman is facing serious felony charges after she stabed a 24-year-old Hispanic male, and stuffed the victim in the trunk of his own vehicle.  The incident reportedly took place around eleven o’clock Sunday night at a residence on Ramsey Branch Road outside of Freeport.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office Investigators say that Annie Holmes of Freeport met the victim with the intent to get money from him for Christmas.  But at one point, Holmes and the victim got into an altercation where the suspect reportedly drew a knife.  She then allegedly cut the victim on his hand, and proceeded to tie him up.  The suspect forced the man at knife point into the trunk of his car, and robbed him of cash and a cell phone.

Holmes then drove to a wooded location off County Road 81 where she took him out of the trunk and left him there.  When she returned a short time later in his car, the victim was gone.  Fearing that he was seriously injured or dead, she called authorities to report the incident.

Initially, Holmes told Sheriff’s Deputies that two unidentified males with long hair tied her and the victim, and then threw them in the trunk of the vehicle.  She would later recant that story, and admitted to her part in the incident.  The victim reportedly sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Besides kidnapping, Holmes also faces aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, and grand theft auto.  She is “behind bars” at the Walton County Jail under a 50-thousand dollar bond.  Additional arrests may be made as well.
