Jean Smith, 77 of Slocomb, AL (Fadette Community) passed away
Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church with Revs. Dennis Berry and Donald Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Mrs. Smith was born in Holmes County, FL on May 23, 1930 to the late James Leon and Lena Holland Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cathy Sue Smith,
brother, John Ed Jones and sister, Gladys Davis.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Harvey Smith;
four children, Larry Smith, Belinda Smith & Pedro Trejo, Bobby Smith all of Slocomb; David & Debbie Smith of Dothan; three brothers, James & Dianne Jones of Malvern, Julius & Beverly Jones, Kenneth Jones all of Slocomb;
four sisters, Martha Lee Owens of Slocomb, Mildred Carmichael of Esto;
Christine & Howard Butler, Emmalene & Wayne Welch all of Hartford;
fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
