CHIPLEY — Judge Allen Register,a judge of the 14th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida, was the Roulhac Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society’s (NJHS) guest speaker at their January meeting.
He serves in Bay and Calhoun County. Judge Register spoke with members about the importance of being a good citizen. He explained the role of the judicial system and the roles of our federal and local governments. But, he emphasized that good citizenship begins with each individual.
He stated that one day soon students will have the opportunity to become a good citizen by voting, working and paying taxes, and becoming informed about local political issues. Afterwards, students were given the opportunity to ask questions.
