Holmes County Sheriff’s Office announced multiple drug arrests over the weekend.


HOLMES COUNTY — Holmes County Sheriff’s Office announced multiple drug arrests over the weekend.



According to the report, on Jan. 18 Deputies received a tip of illegal drug activity at a residence in the Poplar Springs community.



When Deputies arrived, they observed a van in the driveway. Deputies made contact with the driver of the van, Melissa Hayes, 33, of Bonifay.



Deputies received consent from Hayes to search her vehicle and located a small amount of methamphetamine in her purse. Hayes was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine. 



Also on Jan. 18, Deputies received another call of illegal drug activity at a residence in the Hickory Hill community. When Deputies arrived at the residence, they made contact with Lorraine Renee Kilzer, 38, of Westville.



Deputies then located several used syringes with methamphetamine residue. Kilzer, who is currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections, was placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia.



On Jan. 21 a Holmes County Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Gritney community for a registration violation.



The driver of the vehicle Donnie Ray Calhoun, 38, did not have a valid driver’s license.  During a subsequent search, a small amount of methamphetamine and a glass pipe with burnt residue were located on his person.



Calhoun was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.



“Cases the community’s involvement in fighting the war on drugs is essential,” said Sheriff Tim Brown.
