CHIPLEY — Holiday spirit made its first appearance in Chipley Saturday when the annual Christmas Parade wound its way down Highway 77,  kicking off the month’s Christmas festivities. Hundreds turned out for the event, which featured dozens of floats and vehicles. This coming Saturday, Wausau, Vernon, Cottondale and Bonifay all have their town’s Christmas parade slated, and Santa is visiting the Ponce de Leon Town Hall on Dec. 15.



Wausau Christmas parade



The Annual Wausau Christmas Parade is going to be on Dec. 8 beginning at 10 a.m. Anyone wishing to be in the parade please contact the Town Hall at 638-1781, Santa will be at the Possum Palace after the Parade to meet with the Kids.



Pancake breakfast planned



 In conjunction with the Town of Wausau Christmas Parade, to be held on Saturday, the Wausau Masonic Lodge will be hosting a pancake breakfast beginning at 6 a.m.  for a $4 donation.



Anyone wishing to place an entry in the parade, please contact Margaret Riley, Town Clerk 638-1781.  Line up will begin at 9:00AM. Santa is going to be at the Possum Palace after the parade with goodies for the kids.



Vernon Christmas parade



Vernon’s annual Christmas Parade will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.



The Grand Marshal will be “honorary citizen of Vernon” Brent Heard.



Line-up will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the track behind City Hall. Anyone wishing to be in the parade should contact City Hall at 535-2444.



Refreshments will be served in the Community Center and Santa Claus is scheduled to make an appearance as well.



Cottondale Christmas Parade



 Cottondale is happy to announce our Christmas Parade is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Dec. 8. There is no entrance fee or limit to the number of entries. For more information please contact City Hall oat 352-4361 or email them at tbrannencoc@embarqmail.com.



Bonifay Christmas Parade and Celebration in the Park



 The Annual City of Bonifay Christmas Parade and Celebration in the Park will be held Saturday, Dec. 8. The Parade of Lights will begin at 6 p.m. and will proceed to Veterans’ Memorial Park. Following the parade, please join us at Veterans’ Memorial park for a visit with Santa and Bonifay Fire-Rescue’s Hotdogs and Hot Chocolate. Ultimate Production Company, www.ultimateproductioncompany.com, will provide musical entertainment while you enjoy fellowship around a bonfire surrounded by a park full of Christmas lights. Parade line-up is at 5:30 p.m. at Bonifay Elementary School. No registration necessary.
