VERNON Vernon Yellow Jackets fell to the ever-aggressive Sneeds Pirates during their game on Friday, Nov. 2 with a score of 41-12.



The Sneeds Pirates dominated the first quarter with two touchdowns, but the Vernon Yellow Jackets stung back during the first part of the second quarter with a touchdown of their own. Though the kick was no good the score was 14-6.



The Yellow Jackets held the Sneeds Pirates at bay until the Pirates push their way to the end zone, where Pirate #12, Darius Williams, scored a touchdown with 2:54 left in the first half and with a good kick from Pirate #1, Brian Moran, the score was 21-6.



Shortly afterward the Yellow Jackets fumbled and it was recovered by Pirate #2, Jolon Daniels, ran a 15-yard touchdown with 1:41 left in the first half and with a good kick from Pirate #9, Caleb Alexander, the score was 28-6.



Pirate #5, Dallas Goff, then intercepted a pass between Yellow Jackets to score a 40-yard touchdown with 32.8 left in the first half and with a good kick from Alexander the score was 35-6.



There was a short delay after half time due to a medical emergency. An ambulance came in for a member of the Sneeds/visiting side and left shortly afterward.



The third quarter was a grappling match between both sides with touchdowns or points gained.



The Pirates pushed their way into a touchdown by Pirate #24, Joe Boyd, but their kick by Alexander was no good, leaving the score 41-6.



Yellow Jacket #20, Ryan Malloy, impressed fans of both sides with a startling 45-yard touchdown with 8:36 left in the game, however the kick was no good and the score was 41-12.



Next week the Vernon Yellow Jackets face off against Baker for the last game of the year.
