The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office has located Casey Jean Anderson, a 27-year-old Ponce de Leon who was reported missing by his mother from their home on the evening of Sunday, Feb. 16.

Earlier that evening, the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suspicious person in the area of Simmons Lane, south of Ponce de Leon.  The caller reported the subject was knocking on their door asking for water and matched Anderson’s description.

Anderson was located the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 18, after deputies spent two nights searching for Anderson in a densely wooded area.  Anderson was transported for treatment by Holmes County EMS.

Anderson was reportedly suffering from a brain injury and had not been taking his medication.

Holmes County Sheriff Tim Brown would like to thank the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Corrections K-9 teams from Holmes and Walton C.I. for their assistance.
